Coffee Grinder

I want one of these, but am not sure I can pay a high price...so I will wait and see what I can find. Plus I took this photo so I could come back to it, then forgot where it was. So it might have sold since I did not see it again. I did go around to the booths about three or four times each and saw different stuff each time. How does that happen?

Her I am with my two sons, Tyler and Zach. Aren't they so handsome? I am proud to be ther momma. Both of my daughters are in Fairbanks today so they did not get to be with us. Maybe next year? Thanks for a nice afternoon, boys, and Tina too!

Olde Style Video

This movie camera belonged to my hubby's parents. It is one of the things that were left to us. I happen to collect old camera...so it now makes its home on top of an oak display case full of cameras. Nice addition, I think. It also came with the accessories pictured.
I have not been blogging much lately...like many others facebook has had me distracted. But I plan to give my poor blog attention from now on.

Italian Bookcase Inherited

I have always lived this large book case that was in my in laws home. When my MIL moved back to Florida she left it behind for us. I am thrilled! So thanks a bunch Caryle.
Now, Tim will need to make more shelves for it in the future. It has notches built in for more shelving and I want to use it in my studio someday. There is no room for it in there now, but when I get my new and improved studio it will have a place of honor. I think it will look great full of my jars full of vintage sewing and misc goods.

Homemade Floss Holders

Aren't these the cutest things? They were made by my father-in-law many years ago. My mother-n-law told him she needed a way to store her embroidery thread after unwinding it. So he took some thick cardboard and designed and cut these out for her. She left them for me to have. I think they are just darling. My FIL was a VERY talented artist. He passed away nearly a year ago.

More locks

My Mother in law gave me some more old locks the other day. Since she is moving back to Florida she left us with some wonderul family keepsakes, which we are truly grateful for. I will try to post more photos, but I am very busy cleaning out her house to prepare for renters. Blogging has taken a back seat these days in my life. I do hope to get it together once again and post more in the future.

Treasures from MIL

My mother in law brought me a baggie of goodies when she came back from Florida last week. Bless her heart she knows how much I love old stuff. Don't you love the well worn darning egg? The color is great! The thread spools, needle and pin packets, and roll of trim were icing on the cake. Thanks, Mom Caryle!

Peddle Pusher Pam...

...here in my grandma, Verla's front yard in Chico, California when I ws about 2 1/2. Things have not changed much...I still have pale white skin, a double chin (especially since I am getting older), and like picture books. The book is Little Golden Book called "Prayers."
I have very good memories of this house. The best one is of my mom taking our family laundry over here to grandma's house to use her wringer washing machine which was out on the back porch. Grandma and mom would do the laundry together, one pulling the clothes threw the wringer and one hanging them on the clothes line. There were blackberries growing along he back fence and trying to avoid the stickers on them, I would try to pick and eat them while the ladies did laundry.
That back porch was all wood and in my memory it seemed a bit rickedy, yet so wonderful! I wish I could go back and see it how it was then as I am now. The last time I was in the area my mom and tried to find this exact house, but she was unsure if we found the right one as things have changed in 50+ years. But the memory is as clear as day for me. I still love wringer washers and own two of them!

Valentine Gift...YUM!

Looks at this delectable looking dessert...chocolate covered strawberries. This will be enough dessert for a few days...oh no wait...Tim will help me...probably good for one night's dessert! Brought over to me by my son, Zach and his wife, Tina. Thanks!

Inspiriational Bulletin Board #2

This is the second inspiriational bulletin board I have made. This one was made to hang down at the thrift shop in the back room near my work area. It gives me a place to put up notices, fun photos or jokes and any other goodies I think we would enjoy. This board was partially made from things I got at the thirft shop...using fabric, fabric samples, old dictionary pages (scalloped edges) as the foundation and built from there. I will be adding things as I go to fill it up!

Sizzle Magazine-I Made the Cover!

Yes, that is one of my crowns on the cover of Sizzle Magazine. That sweet Celeste from Chaps Girl is featured on this months issue. She submitted this photo and there it is in living color. Celeste is the nicest person I have ever met. I am so proud to have made this crown for her. She has the best food in her restaurant. Comfort food at it's best. The decor is wonderfully eclectic with a somewhat western flair. I can't wait to go there again...maybe for my birthday, which is this coming Sunday. Yeah, that is a great idea!
Thanks Celeste for putting my crown out there for the world to see. Do you think I will be discovered? :)

My Apron Queen Crown in Where Women Create

A few weeks ago I bought the premiere issue of Where Women Create magazine. While sitting in my comfy old granny chair I was casually looking through the magazine and noticed one of my crowns on page 34. Boy was I surprised. I had no idea it was going to be in there. MaryJane had bought it at a small antique store in Spokane.
So I am pleased to see what one of my creations in print...sadly my name is not attached to it. I wished I had been mentioned as the creator, especially since there three places where it is in the magazine. So the world knows...I am Pamela Thoms, crown creator.

My Crown in Where Women Create

Here is the front cover of the first issue of Where Women Create. I have worn the corners down from looking at it, or maybe from showing my family and friends. I know the next issue is out and I can't wait until I can go to town to get it...I hear it is even better.
I am thinking one of these days I would like to be in an issue...goodness knows my studio is more eye candy than one can take in in one visit.
