Another treasure in the North Idaho Museum...
Funny thing...I had just bought one of these
so thought it was great to see one in the museum.
Mine seems to be in better shape, maybe it was
not used as much or just better taken care of.

Or local DAR Chpeter took a field trip to the North Idaho Museum this pased Friday.
I took my camera and got lots of pictures, as usual. So I will share a few of them with
my blog veiwers.

Bread Machine parts

Just wanted to show the inner
workings of my dough maker,
so here it is...

Primitive Bread Dough Machine

Farm Chicks Show...
I did not know what this was when
I first saw it, but I knew I loved it.
It has that old patina that I am drawn to.
But it says right on the tip Bread Dough
Maker. The dough maker turns the hand
crank and mixes the dough up...just like
that! There is even a clamp to attach it
to a table or counter.
If I had room I would attach it to a counter
and leave it there for display...but it is pretty
large and there is not room for such a thing on
any counter in my kitchen.
I already have the counters lined with so much
stuff that my dh complains about it from time to
time.
But one day I hope to have the kitchen of my
dreams and will make sure I build it big
enough to allow for this large dough maker to
go on the counter.

Farm Chicks Show...
I saw this old thing in a booth and had to have it.
I had one like it before moving to Idaho
16 years ago. But sold it cause I was running
out of room to fit 'stuff' in the moving van....
That was one of the stupidist
things I have ever done! I have
regretted it every since. I let my
brother talk me into selling the one
I had. Dumb, dumb.
Anyway, I have done w/o one all
these years. Although I have to say
I do have an old electric one that I use
every summer. It looks very old, but is
just electric.
I wanted this hand crank one because
this is the kind we had growing up.
The kids took turns turning the crank.
I have great memories of the gatherings
we had as a family or church group while
making homemade ice cream using one of these things.
The electric one I use is in an old white wood bucket. I think it is getting ready
to "kick the bucket" because it is having problems churning now.
Now I have a backup!

Head Piece

Farm Chicks Show...
I am not sure how old this piece is,
but it is very fragile...like falling apart
fragile. I think the top piece was attached
to the top front of a ladies head and the
lacey part laid down the back of the head/
hair. This pictures does not do this piece
justice. I took it after dark and the lighting
in my house is not the best for photos.
It would be fun to reproduce this piece...
sometimes I buy old things like this so
I can reproduce them. Since this one is
too fragile to actually use, a new made
to look like it could be worn without fear
of it falling apart.
I do have a very nice collection of old
and vintage laces, so someday I will
get them out and make a copy of this
lovely piece for myself to wear.

Lace Collar

Farm Chicks Show...

Isn't this pretty...I think I paid $4.00
for it. I thought that was a good deal.
Not sure what I will do with it, but think
it would be lovely on the front of an old
fashioned dress or blouse.

Apron Books

Here are the two Apron books
I bought from EllynAnne Geisel
They are charming. Wish I'da
thought of doin' some such books.
She signed them with some cute
quotes on the inside front cover...
so that is very special.

Gift from Farm Chicks

Serena handed me this tape measure
at the Farm Chicks Show. Then I asked
for one for Karen. It can come in handy
if some measurin' needs to be done
before buying somethin' too big and gettin'
it home and havin' it not fit.
Good idea, I say.

Very worn and used drying rack

I have wanted one of these forever!
I was thrilled to find it at the Farm Chicks
Show. It surprised me that it was still in a booth
and had not sold. I did not find it until we
had been shopping there for a few hours.
I can't wait to get it hung up somewhere
so I can begin to use it. I paid only $18.00
for it. I have seen the slightly larger ones
for $98.00. So I think I got a good deal.
I was hoping my sweet hubby could make
me one someday and I am sure he will,
but for now I will love this olde one to pieces!
I need to shut down computer now, they are
telling everyone to do this even if they have surge protectors...so I will have to post more pics
of my treasures after this storm passes.

A little bit of Farm Life

These cardstock farm animals were part
of a set that I picked through in a booth
at the Farm Chicks Show. I wanted the
ones with no dog eared corners and at least
one of each animal available. So I think I did
a pretty good job of capturing the farm animals
I would want. I did not buy the cat, as I don't
like them and they make me rather sneezy.
Not sure what I will do with these, but I am sure
the right event will come along one day to use them.

Part of My Haul

This grouping is of some the goods I found at
the Farm Chicks Show this past Saturday.
I love old photos, wood items, especially
spools or sewing items, old tins, jars.
So I managed to find a little of all of
these things.

These poor people who had booths outside...
they got really dumped on by the rain.
I liked this booth, very green, lush and lovely
to look at.

Goodies Galore

Here is a sampling of the Farm Chicks
goods for sale. Cute cake, huh?
They, of course, have worker bees in
their booth to do all of the selling, whilst
they buzz around greeting folks.
Very fun and festive things to look at.

The Farm Chicks and I

Farm Chicks Show...
Here I am with Serena and Terri, the
Farm Chicks. As I was shopping I was
stopped by Serena and invited to be a
vendor in their show next year.
She said she wanted to invite me but
could not remember how to get ahold
of me. Well, surprise, surprise! That was
nice and I will likely do the show next year.
So I will be making my glittery crowns and
doolie bobbers of all sorts over the next
year to prepare.

Me & Celeste

Farm Chicks Show...
Here I am with Celeste. You can see
her sign between us on the wall.
She will be having some flea markets
in the parking lot of her restaurant soon
She will have one each month from
June through September. I plan to be
a vendor in August and Sept. If I can
get it together I may even do the Jukly
one.

Isn't she just the cuttest thing you ever saw?
The absolute nicest person I have ever met.
She is the owner of Chaps, a restaurant in
Spokane that serves great food and the
ambiance is so inviting and homey.
Really eye candy.
Celeste had a large booth in the main hall
at the show.

Dollie Heads

Farm Chicks Show...
These dollie head caught my eye,
so I waited my turn to enter this
crowded booth to get a closer look.
They were on a shelf way in the back.
I picked one up looked at the price
and put it back down. The one of
the far left was $35.00. Which would
not be all bad if one was in the market
for a metal, made in Germany doll
head. If I saw these at a yard sale
I am pretty sure I would give $5 or
$10 bill for them. Maybe I am crazy,
but $35 just seemed like a lot to me,
They were precious, though. I did love that they were metal and made in Germany.

Present Past

I bought some old photos from
Heather Bullard. Her booth was lovely
and had some really cool goods in it.
Here she holds the bag of my photos.
Her hubby was there keeping guard
on one side of the booth, which is
understandable. The booths were
crammed with people and it must
be hard to watch everyone.
He watched our carts for us while we
shopped as well. Karen and I both
had our granny carts with us.
This is a good thing as we filled them up
with lots of fun things. We never would
have been able to carry all of the stuff
we bought. The carts were hard at times
because of the crowds, but I am still glad
we had them.

This booth I loved!

So many things to look at
in this wonderful booth.
Some real eye candy for anyone
who is a collector.
There were bowls of buttons,
watch faces and parts, little bottles,
beads, optical lenses, and much more.
It made my brain spin on how I want
to be watching for old non-working
watches now, so I can get some of these
wonderments to create with.
