Ready to cook

Just some random photos of my life, creations, old photos and maybe some genealogy facts scattered through out. Now that we have facebook, Pinterest, etc, Blogging has pretty much gone by the wayside. But I will keep this blog as long as Google has it available and maybe my grand daughter, Willow, will find it when I am old or gone to be with Jesus, my Savior! :)

Hi ~ I just found your blog thru MJF board. I think I read somewhere that if you soak the beans overnight and then rinse them before cooking ~ it reduces the gas :) Might be worth a try, as they are so tasty (and purty in that picture!).
These babies did soak overnight...but that did not help. I did notice that if I had a small portion it was fine...so there it is! Small portions, knucklehead!
Pamela, I saw you at Auntie's but didn't connect that you were Pamela from MJF...oh well! The other thing you can do with your beans is to do what Wisconsin crunchy mama said and soak them then rinse them, and then add some baking soda to the water that you cook them in. I don't know how much exactly, I just go by how many beans I'm cooking - I would say f you start with a pound of beans, maybe use a half teaspoon of baking soda. It seems to help. Good luck - those beans look yummy! Are you from California? I moved to Spokane from San Diego in Oct. 2004. I love it up here!
